The International Cat Show Benefits Oregon Food Bank

Portland, Or. The International Cat Show is drawing thousands of cat lovers to the Airport Holiday Inn this weekend and many are bringing donations for the Oregon Food Bank. Organizers say there’s a diversity of feline beauty on display at the big show. Judges from around the world are officiating in six different arenas in categories from purebreds to regular house cats. There are rescue cats and kittens available for adoption from the West Columbia Gorge Humane Society and the Community Cat Coalition. Vendors are also on hand selling things like catnip toys, fluffy blankets, cat trees and jewelry.

All the way from Toulouse, France, Jean-Marc LaGarde is judging on Sunday, January 29th.

Judging in the Allbreed ring from Coquitlam, British Columbia, Canada was TICA’s most senior judge and former judge of the year Yvonne Patrick.

This is TICA Northwest Regional Director and Allbreed Judge: Ellen Crockett.

KGW’s Drew Carney stopped by The International Cat Show to meet some cats and interview their owners.

The International Cat Show Portland is produced by The New Culture Club along with dozens of volunteers and staff members.  Here’s a video from last year’s show:

Visitors who bring two cans of Food save $2 and help the Oregon Food Bank. Admission is $8 + 2 cans of food or $10 with out food. Children under 12 are free.
