NORTHWEST FOURSOME ADDS LOCAL FLARE TO UMPQUA BANK CHALLENGE 2012 Regence Pro-Am field includes mix of professionals and entertainers  PORTLAND, Ore. (July 10, 2012) – The Umpqua Bank Challenge today announced that four additional golf professionals will be added to the main field of the upcoming event, set for August 26-28 at The Reserve Vineyards & Golf Club in Aloha. This “Northwest Foursome” will showcase individuals, each with a local connection, who have either played or are trying to play on the PGA TOUR. This year’s foursome will include Oregon State University graduate and aspiring TOUR pro Vincent Johnson, and three additional players who will be announced at a later date. “This is a fun way to show Portland how the prominent players in the Northwest stack up against some of the top players in the world,” said Tournament Host Peter Jacobsen. “Vincent Johnson is an impressive young man who certainly has the ability to play on the PGA TOUR – I know he will hold his own on the leaderboard.” A Portland, Ore. native, Johnson turned professional in 2008 after attending Oregon State University on a golf scholarship. He played on the Gateway Tour during the 2008 season and, in 2009, earned a spot in the PGA TOUR’s Northern Trust Open as the first recipient of the Charlie Sifford Exemption. Johnson picked up his first professional victory at the 2010 Long Beach Open.

Griesser currently voices the talking wheel of cheese (aka Immature Cheese) for the Cheez It brand. •   Angie Oberholser; Former University of Oregon golfer Angie Oberholser turned professional in 2000, and played on both the Symetra Tour and LPGA Tour through 2005.
